Everyone should have healthcare access. Some of our staff, in healthcare, are choosing not to have insurance due to premium increases. We need medicare for all. People shouldn't be forced into bankruptcy if they have a medical need. We could have private payers and supplemental insurance in addition to this, but need basic insurance for everyone.
Private practice needs to be protected. There is no reason a physician makes more on the same procedure working at a system then they do at a private practice. Prior authorizations shouldn't exist. If a physician thinks a blood pressure medication is appropriate for someone, they should be allowed to put them on the medication.
Nurses are the backbone of healthcare. They, like physicians, are leaving the work force at alarming numbers. Safe staffing ratios need to be evaluated. Staff shouldn't be forced to work under unsafe conditions, putting patients and themselves at risk. Whistleblower laws need to be enhanced. Patient safety needs to be the most important thing in healthcare, not an after thought.
Minnesota schools need to continue to support every child regardless of their learning needs. We should make sure there are safe guards in place for children who are disabled or that need IEPs. Access to education is one of the most important things we can do for our kids. This access doesn't just end with elementary, middle and high school. We need to make sure that children and young adults have the ability to get a higher education.
The LGBTQIA+ community has been harmed by the current administration. Everyone has the right to obtain healthcare and treatment. Every single person should have access to what they need.
Everyone has constitutionally endowed rights. This includes the right of due process. We have seen citizens, permanent residents and people who are here legally, removed from the community. There needs to be reform on these issues immediately.
My husband and I are owners of a business based out of Minnesota. I will do whatever I can to support growth. Supporting the local community will help people feel welcome and like investing in our economy. If we don't fix the oppressive immigration issues happening in our city, our economy will be harmed. I also don't think there is anything wrong with businesses paying their fair share of taxes. We are happy to pay more to support the community.
